Unmanned Aerial Systems serve many more purposes than simply locating an assailant or deterring further injustice. Drones, when paired with trained law enforcement officers such as the St. Louis County Police Department, can de-escalate situations and recover lost people among many other use cases for enhancing overall public safety.
With multiple articles coming out lately where public safety officials are finding missing people with DJI Enterprise drones, UAS applications can and are merging police and recovery efforts.
Officer Scott Brown of the Tactical Operations Unit for the St. Louis County Police Department discussed how their enterprise drones are finding “missing people in parks; missing elderly people with dementia, Alzheimer’s, and missing children.”
It’s been a pleasure working with the St. Louis County PD and training their officers on how to best implement enterprise drones into law enforcement protocol for the greater good.
